She sleeps!!!

It is still a battle getting Johanna into bed and asleep, but once she gets down she has been staying down!!!  She has gone 4 nights in a row.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that this continues so that mommy and daddy can have a late night date night!!!  No overnights in the future however - she still gets up at 5-6 to eat!  That is okay with me as long as she sleeps all night!!!

Johanna couldn't resist putting the 'fake snow' in her mouth.

Yum Yum

nursery decorations!!

So, since I was awake at 4:00 am and couldn't go back to sleep (and strangely still haven't) I went to the website etsy.com - Ashley had mentioned it - and I found a decoration that I am going to copy and make myself. I think I know just the person who may be interested in helping me too!!! Here is the picture...what do you all think? I need to finish the baby blanket, and the two dressers before I start my next project though!

We are so excited to put in a bathroom in the basement. Matt Godbout is doing the work for us and we are excited as day one got underway. It will be a small bathroom, but it will be nice to have one in the basement, especially now that our 'guest room' is the basement! Our spare bedroom is now the nursery, which we are working on completing! We have 2 dressers that were painted a green and a black, which we are going to repaint white to go with our white crib. We will put pictures of the dressers up when they are done.
The bathroom will have a small stand up shower, toilet and the vanity. Fun, fun, fun. We - as if I did any work - have the frame up around all four walls, the ceiling frame up and the shower in. We were going to go with a deeper shower, but Matt said it probably wouldn't fit because of the depth so we went with a smaller one. Good thing we did, because we could barely get it into the house. It was pretty light and I helped Matt get it through the front door, but we had to take the front door off, and the frame off of the laundry room door just to get it into the bathroom!!! It was a fun and productive day!

Work on the Nursery!!!

Daddy and both grandpa's had a busy weekend!! Here are pictures and videos of the nursery. The guys painted the room with 2 colors - an off white on top (which you will see in the first video) and then a soft yellow on the bottom. The guys also worked on my favorite -- electrical, putting in all new outlets and covers.

This first video is of the electrical being done.

This video shows work on the bottom portion. Jason painted all of the corners. I don't know if the grandpa's limited his work to just the corners for a reason or not(hmmmm)!

Here are a couple of finished painting pictures. We love it!!!

Next step is to add the chair rail (which we will paint the same off white as the top portion!) I am also going to repaint two dressers. One of which will be used as the changing table. I will start those projects once the weather is a little nicer and I can sand them down outside without FREEZING!!

Thanks to all the guys for working on this for us!!!!!!

Exciting Weekend!

We are excited for the weekend. I am going to go visit my mom, Ashley and Gram - and hopefully talk baby stuff all weekend. All the while Jason and my dad (mabye Bob?) are going to work on painting the nursery and a few other things on the honey-do list!!! I am thrilled to come home on Sunday and have a painted nursery!!! We decided to paint the nursery a light/pastel yellow and an off white. It will be the same style as the blue and white room with the chair rail that was in an earlier post. Once I get home on Sunday I will get a pic or video and post it!!

Maybe she will be a musician!!!

So all day today it felt like our little girl was using my nerves, tendons, ligaments and everything else like they were a part of a harp and she kept plucking them!!!

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Jason is putting the crib together. A nice white wood crib will (hopefully) look great once we paint the walls yellow!!

...and here is Erin with the finished crib!!! Now we just need to add the sheets and blankets, dresser, changing table, glider, a little paint and a BABY GIRL!!!

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I couldn't get the video to upload the other week, but this was the on the car ride. Make sure your sound is on so you can here Jason compliment my angelic childhood!!!

and yes...the video is sideways...sorry!

Nursery

We are going to do something similar to this in the nursery.
Different colors though...a soft yellow on the bottom and an off white on the top.
Fun, fun, fun.
We bought the paint and Jason and my Dad are going to paint the room in early Feb -
YEAH the process is starting!!!

some nursery ideas

So yes we are getting really excited about finding out the sex of the baby in a week!!  I am starting to go a little crazy with figuring out what to do with the nursery.  Here are some pictures that I like.  Fun, fun, fun!!!

I really, really, really like the decoration above the crib.  I think it would be neat above a crib or changing table.  Could paint something like that or maybe use some fabric to make the initial square and then use a shelf or two.

I like the stripe effect behind the crib.  We are thinking of doing a light/creamy yellow for wall color.  Then we could add a small stripe or two in a darker yellow or another accent color.

I really like this painted changing table.  I like that it looks refurbished/old.  I also like the accent of the knobs.  If we used the dresser that Kathy has, we could paint it white and do the knobs in the wall color.  Or paint the dresser another color all together.

We like the idea of a shelf running across the length of one of the walls.  This idea could maybe go on the wall across from the first idea I put up.

Another changing table that I like.

I really like the look of this wall.  We won't do it in our nursery, but mom I thought of you and thought you might like something like this in your breezway.  They are quilts or parts of quilts cut out and hung on the wall.  Looks neat.

Lots of decisions with this nursery!!!  I think we have at least narrowed down that the walls will be a soft creamy yellow...but otherwise the rest is up in the air!!!
